Paper Cup/Copper Pick (Everything I See)

from Recovered Treasures by Christopher Johnson

about

This was written with an actual copper pick that was cool sounding but absolutely destroyed guitar strings as well as my pick guard on my guitar, Stoney. This version of the song does not use the copper pick but I might have had some wine that night.

lyrics

Break it up, just to take a little time
if you make it up, when you're needing a line
you're gonna find it works out fine in the end
all the time

Like a sunny day, birds all over the place
when I see your face, now I see your face all the time
there's only light in your eyes and it's alright

like a paper cup and a bottle of wine
when I think of you you're a whisper in my mind
Yes you know I feel the same
but who's to blame anymore

but in your arms you hold me tight
it feels so right
and tonight I'm gonna hold you in my arms if that's alright
cause today you made me feel in my heart that it's alright
Cause everywhere I go end everything that I do
Everything that I see reminds me of you

Got my copper pick and a grin on my face
If you bring it up I'm gonna take you to a place tonight
Oh by the way, I'd love you anyway

Like a paper cup and a bottle of wine
if I gave it up, I'd be thirsty all the time
Yah you know It's not the same and
I'm to blame anymore

But in your arms you hold me tight
it feels so right
and tonight I'm gonna hold you in my arms if that's alright
cause today you made me feel in my heart that it's alright
Cause everywhere I go end everything that I do
Everything that I see reminds me of you

When the paper truck drives by just before dawn
I'm gonna give it up, I'm gonna sing me a song
but you know It's much to late but still I wait
for a sign...
